I Had My Gallbladder Removed 1 1/2 Yes Ago .

Question: I had my gallbladder removed 1 1/2 yes ago . I am having trouble with constipation for 3 to 4 days then when my bowels finally move I have a few in a row then the diarrhea starts. I will have diarrhea for hours and sometimes vomiting. Then loose stools for a couple days. This is starting to affect my ability to work. I am watching the amount of fat I take in and that doesn't seem to help. I have increased my fiber intake. As time goes on this is just getting worse. Help

The symptoms are related to increased bile due to gallbladder removal.
The bile acids when entering the large intestine may act as a laxative.
I suggest using over the counter anti-diarrheal medications, such as Imodium A-D three times a day.
These are over the counter medication.
I also recommend medications that impair absorption of bile acids, such as Cholestyramine.
This is a prescription medication, so you should consult your doctor about the treatment.
I suggest to maintain a healthy diet and avoid caffeine, dairy products
greasy foods, very sweet foods.
