Question: I had nizzan fundoplication surgery on February 12th, 2019. I have had severe chest pain and pressure that radiates to the left arm and back since the surgery. Movement and upper arm movements make pain and chest feel like it's going to explode! I have horrible gas and cannot vomit. I've been hospitalized twice trying to control pain and many tests to rule out heart and GI functions. All they have come up with is spasms of the esophagus. My pain is 24/7. I'm on 10mg of hydrocodone every 6hrs and morphine er every 12 hours...the pain meds just barely takes the edge off. I also take 4 nitroglycerin pills when the chest pain becomes unbearable. Zofran 3-4 times daily for nausea. Have tried 6 medications specifically for esophageal spasms which did nothing for the pain and I had terrible side effects with 4 of them.
What could be causing this chest pain/pressure..I am basically bedridden because the pain with movement is so severe.
