I Had One Tooth Extracted Eight Days Ago. Pain Is
infected extraction socket, irrigation, bony spicule
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your query.
I have gone through your concerns carefully.
As far as the pain at the site of extraction is concerned, it can be secondary to an infected extracted site, or any sharp bony spicule.
Nothing to panic, please consult an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and get it evaluated in detail. You need to get the extraction socket irrigated and cleaned. Pain subsides in a span of 5 to 7 days following tooth removal. Since you still have pain, it can be because of the above mentioned causes.
If there are any bony spicules you have to get it removed surgically. You can take the analgesics/pain killers for a maximum of 7 days. Do not take too many analgesics. You dont have to think about addiction. Once the cause is treated pain will subside and you do not require any medication there after. You can stop the medication now and consult the oral and maxillofacial surgeon and take an opinion.
Hope I have answered your query.
