Brief Answer:
A head MRI examination

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in Ask the Doctor

I can understand your concern

In my opinion if you are afraid of Parkinson one should have the below signs and symptoms such as:

A tremor, or shaking, which usually begins in a limb, often hand or fingers, slowed movement (bradykinesia), rigid muscles, impaired posture and balance, loss of automatic movement, speech and writing changes.

A strong risk factor for you is your family history.
Although it is hard for me to say if you should worry or not without examine you closely , you can contact your doctor for this.

Nevertheless to be sure in such circumstances we usually recommend a head MRI examination with contrast. It it comes positive yes you have Parkinson and you should be treated by a neurologist specialist

If not than no worries, your concerns might be from musculoskeletal system disorders and a rheumatologist is the specialist of the field.

Hope to have been helpful

I take pain medication every day every 4 hours. How long does Parkinson’s begin to be obvious. I have no tremors and I can hold my hands out and they are very rigid with no movement. My neck is very tight.

Brief Answer:
Usually we follow up the patients in non specific cases

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

As you explain further in my opinion this is not Parkinson but seems more like a condition that mimic Parkinson such a myopathy (probably polymiositis).

Usually in uncertain or ambiguous cases,we just follow-up the patient with monitoring of the treatment response which usually gives the correct diagnosis. 'Premotor' PD-a range of non-motor symptoms, particularly sleep disorders and constipation, can occur up to 20 years before PD motor onset-is common.
