![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I had protected sex with an escort about ten days ago , the condom never slipped off or broke, but I did notice a small cut on penis just one inch before base, is their any chance of infection from stds if comdom went up or as I took off
Brief Answer:
Regarding STDs
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern.
It is unlikely that HIV could pass through a minor cut or abrasion on skin. However, there is a risk of other stds like genital herpes and genital warts even with a condom. These infections can pass through skin to skin contact, as may happen during sexual intercourse because a condom covers only part of the shaft of penis, and are facilitated through breaks in the skin.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

What if part of the shaft was covered like an inch away and that's where the cut was in
Brief Answer:
Regarding STDs
Detailed Answer:
hi.
Like I said, during sexual intercourse skin of base of penis may be exposed to vaginal secretions and there might be skin to skin contact between mons pubis and base of shaft which might lead to certain STDs like genital herpes and genital HPV. A skin break would certainly facilitate innoculation of infecting organisms into the skin. Take care
