Question: I had sex with a girl that was hiv positive unknown to me with a cd4 count of 427 I went on pep immediately the next morning still under 24 hours not up to 48 hours pls what are my chances of surviving this mind u I have diabetes but I have been on Pep taking my fruits as much as possible daily no serious side effects on day 14 now I just want to know what are my chances pls. I had sex with this girl only one time just one time

Hello,
Based on her CD4 count I think she has a good level and usually this means a good health conditions of her but we need to know her viral load (low or negative) to jugde better if there exist a low possibility of HIV transmission .
But a very good news as well is that you have just one time sexual intercourse with her and you have started PEP immediately and I think you shouldn't worry because there exist a low risk to get HIV infection in this situation.
It is good news that you don't have side effects till now but please you must continue the PEP till the end (28days) to get better results.
I suggest not to smoke weed while you are on PEP because could have an impact on the effectiveness.
