Hello and Thanks for choosing "Ask a Doctor" service for your query,
Have seen your details and I appreciate your concerns.
There are a number of screening tests for Hepatitis C but sensitivity and specificity of them are quiet low. Therefore they are just meant for screening a patient.
If you want a sure shot answer go for test called Recombinant immunoblot assays (RIBAs).It uses recombinant HCV antigens that are fixed to a solid substrate.
If this test is negative you don't have HCV.
This is gold standard test so you can go for it.
Thank you!
Go for RIBA assay.

Hi again,
Yes,
There are many types of tests designed to rule out a specific disease.
Some of them are used for screening(Screening means trying to sort out possible cases among masses) while other are Gold standard test(which are done on the patient screened).
Now problem with screening test is that it is not always reliable.
Some times it misses out patients while many times it show wrong results.
Thank you!

Hi there,
Thanks for follow up,
Have gone through each and every report and I want to assure you that as said above polymerase chain reaction test if negative means no chance of disease.
It can pick up RNA of even a single virus as early as 3 days and could amplify it.
Rest assured you are normal.
Do rate the answer.
Follow ups are welcome.
You don't have HCV.
