I Had Some Concerns About Weakness In My Arm, Specifically

default
Posted on Sat, 9 Feb 2019
Question: I had some concerns about weakness in my arm, specifically forearm area, as well as my leg as well. None has affected my daily life or anything, just there. Also have had muscle twitches for awhile , just brief ( a second or less), all over my body. Periodically throughout the day. I recently had a physical exam, and sort of hinted at my concerns to my PCP, and noted that I was worried about ALS. He didn’t do any further exam, and said he doesn’t think I need an EMG or anything. Should I believe this, or should I get a second opinion?

Okay. Do you believe this could be related to ALS?

I don’t have any difficulty going to the gym or doing everyday activities. I’m just anxious. I know it’s rare, and I’m hoping that my doctor was right. They said it’s more common to show up with twitches in the mouth and hands, which I don’t have currently.

My family keeps assuring me I’m fine as muscle twitches are common and occur for many reasons. There’s nothing visually wrong with me, and I’m able to do all Normal, and haven’t noticed any setbacks at the gym either. I just have I’ll ess anxiety and I worry about a lot

I seem to be getting stronger at the gym. That’s a good sign isn’t it?
