I Had The Flu But The Symptoms Cleared Up After

default
Posted on Sun, 14 Apr 2019
Question: I had the flu but the symptoms cleared up after 10 days to 2 weeks. Now some of them seem to have returned, in a lesser way. Felt a slight temperature yesterday, also sore throat. Used some chloraseptic yesterday and this AM on throat. (still a bit sore) Really feel pretty good overall did hock up a nasty bit of phlegm this AM. Mainly concerned about the possibility of strep throat. Any way to detect symptoms of that or do I need a lab test? thx, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
A throat swap may be needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

If you have fever, difficulty swallowing you most probably have infected tonsils or tonsillitis. It may be caused by strep throat.
You may do a throat swap or a doctor to examine your throat with a flash light to see if tonsils are red swollen or with pus dots.
This may be tonsillitis.
You may need to get antibiotics.

Hope I have answered the question.
