I Had Unprotected Sex 9.22. First Day Of My Last
Question: I had unprotected sex 9.22. First day of my last period was 9/15. Ended 9.20. I took plan b 9.22. I developed uti and was prescribed bactrim on 9.25. I took 5 bactrim and just couldnt take the last one. It was wrecking havoc on my body. I was in pain everywhere and generally depressed. It took away infection but I didnt like the side effects. I have anxiety. So here is what my question is. I am bleeding like a period again on 9.29. I think this is because of the plan b. I stopped bactrim early by 1 pill on that antibiotic. Should I take it even though I am 24 hours past when it was due or can I self treat if uti comes back with D- Mannose instead? I really hope uti doesnt come back! I was scared to be bleeding again as well so soon but I do think the plan b messed me up. I will never take again. I just want my body to detox from the plan b and bactrim. How soon will both be out of my system and my body be back to normal? So those are my questions...
1) Should i take/finish bactrim even though last dose was due 24 hours ago? I really dont want to
2) How soon will plan b and bactrim be out of my system so my body can feel like normal again?

Brief Answer:
Regarding UTI and side effect of antibiotic & emmergency oral contraception
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern.
If you no longer have symptoms of UTI, there is no use of taking the remaining one dose of bactrim. Take plenty of water throughout the day as it would help flush any remaining infection. Emergency contraception (plan B) can have common side effects like nausea, dizziness, tiredness, pain abdomen but they are transient and would lessen in another 3-5 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.
