I Had Unprotected Sex With A Local Girl From Bali.

Question: I had unprotected sex with a local girl
From Bali. She seemed like a nice girl and said she hadn’t had sex in long time. She was not a sad worker and didn’t want money. When I woke up
I felt worried about HIV and had no way to contact her so went to a clinic who prescribed me with PeP. I took a test and had never had HIV before. I am just wondering if this is safe to take. And if there is any harm in taking it. I have never had any medications before. Is there any harm
In continuing it.

Hi,
Welcome to Ask A Doctor.
Thanks for posting your query.
We cannot assess anybody by appearance and we can not rely their words.
It’s quite good that you have been started on PEP. Patients are taking these drugs for many years. Side effects are not so common. Very few people only cannot tolerate. Not harmful. This will ensure you to abort the HIV infection if any.
