Question: I had venous ablation a little over three weeks ago. I'm having some pressure in my groin area today, and I'm not sure if it could signify a blood clot. I did have a scan 2 weeks ago and it was clear.

Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* There can be various issues for pressure feeling in groin area after venous
ablation procedure as ligament stretch, healed tissue stretching
subcutaneous area, blood clot or others.

Kindly provide me further details so that I can answer your query completely.

1. Details of venous ablation indication, site, documents of procedure details
if available.
2. Current symptoms apart from pressure in groin area if any ?
3. Are you consuming any medications post procedure ?

Awaiting for your response.

Thank you! I had the procedure done on my left leg with the closure fast device. This was on December 2. 2 small incision sites in left inner thigh. I don't have any other symptoms except a very mild pulling in my calf. I had asked the nurse about it and she said it was normal. No swelling, redness, or discoloration. I'm only taking my regular Levothyroxine, iron supplement, and multivitamin.

Brief Answer:
follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the details.

* As there is very mild pulling in calf and no other symptoms, that sounds to
be non specific or muscle / ligament discomfort issue.

Keep ambulatory and do not hesitate for any obvious underlying vascular issue.
Should discuss about need of follow up doppler scan during your scheduled follow up with the surgeon.

Wish you best recovery and health.
Regards.
