I Have 3 Herniated Discs In My Neck And A

Question: I have 3 herniated discs in my neck and a neurosurgeon has told me I should be operated on within 2 weeks her nurse called me and inform me if I smoked it all in the last six weeks to give her a call in 6 weeks after I quit what should I think and what should I do
Brief Answer:
Better to quit smoking before surgery
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Blood supply of small vessels to the spine may be compromised in smokers and which may affect healing process after the surgery. However occasional smoking does not cause much problems.
Since it is not an emergency surgery, it is bettet to quit smoking prior to surgery.
Thanks

It's supposably was supposed to be done within two weeks ago the first of August because they say I'm showing stroke symptoms because of the narrowing of the herniated disc in my neck and my oxygen is totally being blocked off should I call and leave a message for the doctor herself instead of that nurse because I feel like getting the total run around and my health is at risk
Brief Answer:
In that case surgery must be done
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If there is chance for stroke or impaired oxygen delivery to brain, surgery must be done at the earliest.
Thanks
