I Have Beau's Lines And Terry's Nails . I Have

default
Posted on Sat, 8 Dec 2018
Question: I have Beau's lines and Terry's nails. I have had blood work done in May, and the only issue found was iron deficiency (no anemia). I've treated the iron deficiency, and the lines/discoloration are still there. My blood tests are otherwise all normal, and have been for all these years that I've had the lines/discoloration. They don't indicate any issues with kidney, thyroid, or liver functioning at all (though I had my gallbladder out years ago). What could it be?

Brief Answer:
Beau’s lines associated wid endogenous causes, manicure, habit tic, trauma

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query.
Beau’s lines usually indicate an endogenous cause associated with temporary interference with nail formation.
Sometimes they can occur due to manicure, habit tic or minor trauma to the nails.
Terry’s nails usually are associated with organic causes but can occur in some individuals without any specific cause.
As as far as your blood work up is fine there is no need to worry.
I hope to have answered your query and would be happy to answer any further queries.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
