I Have Diarrhea . Every 3 Hours. I Had Electrolyte
?
Consult a physician for following medications
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to “Ask a doctor”.
I have gone through your concerns.
As you have taken electrolytes , it is a very wise thing to first keep the body electrolytes in balance. Therefore, please continue taking electrolytes especially WHO recommended ORS solutions.
I would like to know has the diarrhoea started after eating outside?
Is there any fever or pain in the abdomen accompanying it?
Secondly it is advisable to visit a physician for clinical examination as he /she will prescribe medications like antibiotics and supportive treatment like
1. Tablet Norfloxacin - Tinidazole twice a day for 7 days (This is a prescription drug and only to be taken after consulting a doctor).
2. Sporolac (lactobacillus) sachets to be mixed with water in a glass and
have thrice a day for 3 days. (Available over the counter)
3. Tablet omeprazole 20mg half an hour before breakfast for 7 days.(Available over the counter)
4. If there is fever then over the counter paracetamol 650 mg can be taken
SOS.
Along with this it is recommended that you have a bland diet for a week like ragi malt, rice/sooji ganji , curd/yogurt.
Avoid spicy food till your GIT comes back to normal.
Also take good amounts of fluids like coconut water and ORS.
Hope your question was answered to a satisfactory extent.
Get well soon.

My friend's dad is a doctor. So he suggested these medications over the phone and it is as follows
Norflax TZ
Nutrolin B capsule
Loperate 2Mg
(Morning and night)
Shall I continue with these medications?
Medications are appropriate
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for replying.
Yes please do finish the above mentioned antibiotic course completely (Norflox TZ) for 1 week.
Nutrolin B is a multivitamin B capsule so it will replenish the deficiency if any.
And Loperate you can take only till there is diarrhoea .One it stops you can discontinue Loperate.
I am sure you will get well soon.
However, a humble advise always visit a physician physically.
Take care and get well soon.
