Question: I have Grover's disease confirmed by 2 labs. I have had it near a year. I have seen 2 Dr and their treatments are near useless. I went through the light-box treatments and several different prescription topicals. On a scale of 1-10 all this has helped at a 4 at best. The only relief from the itching is Benadryl pills and they make me sleepy. I have the sores on near all parts of my body. back and chest are the worst. The past 6 weeks It is spreading to my legs. neck even one on my jaw. What happens when I get one on my eyelid?

Brief Answer:
Management of grover’s disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your complaints and understand your concern.
Grover’s disease is usually transient and resolves in few months in most of the individuals.
I would recommend you to take antihistaminic like tablet cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
It won’t make you sleepy.
If your lesions are progressing you can go for a course of oral steroids or isotretinoin.
These will halt the progression of disease but these are prescription drugs and should be taken under the supervision of the doctor.
Also you can continue applying topical steroid like clobetasol propionate cream diluted in a moisturising lotion in the ratio of 1:3 on the affected areas of the body twice daily.
If you get a lesion on the eyelid apply a mild topical steroid like hydrocortisone cream on the affected eyelid twice daily.
I hope to have answered your query and would be happy to answer any further queries.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
