I Have A 18 Month Male Child That Doesn't Stay

Question: I have a 18 month male child that doesn't stay asleep. He has no problem falling asleep he also snores ,sleeps with his mouth open , sleeps in funny poistions, it seems like he is having nightmares or night terrors. He doesn't seem to be able to find a comfortable poistion to sleep in. He doesn't eat very much and doesn't seem to like meat. Because of his lack of sleep and him not eating well I can't tell if the dark circles under his eyes is lack of sleep or low iron from not eating. He maybe sleeps around 6 to 8 hrs a day not a night but for the whole day. I have been keeping logs of how long he sleeps. He has a routine. We get up at the same time during the week. He goes to the setter and is usually home between 5 to 6 pm , plays has dinner, a bath about every other night and goes to bed around 7:30 sleeps till between 10 to 12 am and then is up and down the rest of the night.

Brief Answer:
Consult ENT doctor and get done detailed check up for nose, pharynx.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the detailed history you have given.
Snoring and sleep disturbances in a Toddler should be evaluated for upper Airway obstruction like DNS (deviated nasal septum), nasal polyps, adenoids, tonsils etc.
So better to consult ENT doctor and get done detailed clinical examination of Upper respiratory tract (nose, pharynx, larynx).
If all these are normal then possibility of nightmares or night terrors are more.
But better to first rule out obstructive causes.
Please let me know if you have consulted ENT doctor or pediatrician about this.
I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
