I Have A Deep Pain In The Back Of My

default
Posted on Fri, 12 Jul 2019
Question: I have a deep pain in the back of my left thigh that runs down behind the back of my knee. When I drive or stand for a long time I feel that I need to stretch it and move it back and forth to lessen the pain. I did go to a vein clinic they said that one of my veins that runs down my leg wasn't opening and closing and should be removed, but they didn't seem to think it would help with this issue. I am female, 62 years old, about 100 lbs over weight and work on my feet a lot.

Brief Answer:
Can be muscle pain or arthritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

The deep pain at the back of the thigh and knee can be related to muscle pain or arthritic changes in the knee joint.

To help with this pain, you need to do regular physiotherapy exercises to tone up the muscles in the area. Losing the extra lbs will also help. You can also start with an over the counter pain medication for short term relief.

You can also get oral muscle relaxants prescribed by your physician in case the pain is severe.
I hope this answers your query.

In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

Wishing you good health.
