I Have A Lump On My Lower Leg That I’m

Question: I have a lump on my lower leg that I’m worried about. It’s under my knee, oval in shape.
So last Saturday, 8/24, my knee felt uncomfortable. Then on Sunday, I had excruciating pain on the outside of my knee and couldn’t even put weight on it. I went to urgent care, they did an X-ray that turned out normal and the doctor suspected tendonitis. After I got home I noticed a lump. The pain went away after a few days. It’s been over a week and the lump is still there, but I do not know if I just didn’t notice the lump before. I’m worried that it could be unrelated to my knee pain. Is swelling consistent with tendinitis? The swelling location is not the same place where the pain is. The pain is on the outside of my knee, the swelling is on the outer top of my shin. I have attached pictures for your review. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Please attach the pictures in Reports section
Detailed Answer:
Hi
The pictures are not uploaded. Please attach them in the Reports section.
As per your description, the Lump could be Lipoma (fat swelling) or a Bursa. You might have not noticed it earlier.
Pain can be due to Tendinitis or Arthritis.MRI of the affected Knee joint can confirm the diagnosis. It gives clue about the swelling too.
As there is no pain now, you can consult an Orthopedic surgeon and proceed further regarding swelling.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you attach the pictures,I can clarify much better.
Wish you good health

Brief Answer:
It looks like Lipoma
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I saw the pictures.
The swelling looks like Lipoma. It is a Benign swelling, not Cancer.
FNAC(FINE NEEDLE ASPIRATION CYTOLOGY) will confirm the diagnosis or you can get it excised completely and send it for Histopathological examination (Biopsy).
Please consult a General Surgeon/Orthopaedician and proceed further.
Nothing to worry at all.
Regards

Is it possible that the swelling is from tendonitis? I didnt notice the lump on Saturday when i was checking for swelling, but on Sunday when I checked again, it was there. It also seems like the
lump is getting smaller.
lump is getting smaller.
Brief Answer:
It is difficult without Clinical examination
Detailed Answer:
Hi
If the swelling is reducing in size,it can be Inflammatory one which can be linked to Tendinitis.
But,it can be confirmed after clinical examination- Inspection and palpation of the swelling.
Please consult a General Surgeon/Orthopaedician and proceed further.
