I Have A Patch Of Skin Near My Ankles That

Question: I have a patch of skin near my ankles that is discolored (I am fair skinned and the patch is dark brown).
It is not a mole, it is flat with a scale like feel.
It is the size of a nickel.
I first noticed it in April. Since then it has changed color (originally all dark brown- now the center is lighter).

Brief Answer:
Frictional keratoses, topical steroid, moisturising cream
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and reviewed the attached photographs.
It is looking like a patch of friction keratoses.
Do you have itching, burning or any other complaints on the patch?
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like clobetasol propionate cream on the affected areas twice daily along with regular application of a moisturizing cream on both the feet 2-3 times in a day for 2-3 weeks.
Steroidal preparations are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
I hope to have answered your query and would be happy to answer any further queries.
