Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.
I have noted your clinical details. Yes, it is possible that the perineural cyst in the region of D12-L1 is compressing the nerve that comes to leg/thigh, causing pain and burning.
To confirm, you would require detailed neurological examination and careful analysis of MRI findings.
Please upload the MRI scan report.
I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.
I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.

MRI Impressions
At D12 L1 there is a small simple cyst measuring 4mm within the transversing nerve root bundle causing severe adjacent nerve root impingement suggestive of perineural cyst
Broad based posterior disc protrusion noted at L4 and L5 and L5 and S1 causing mild anterior thecal sac indentation with no adjacent and transversing nerve root impingement.
Mild facetal arthropathy changes noted in lumbar spine
