I Have A Question. I Took An Ambien (legally Prescribed

default
Posted on Fri, 7 Dec 2018
Question: I have a question. I took an ambien (legally prescribed by my psychiatrist) earlier tonight and it made me feel very odd. I would say it made me feel high. It ended up with me vomiting repeatedly all over the apartment. Do you think I need to seek medical attention? I have taken ambien before and this has never happened. I do feel out of it, kind of. Though it has improved since the vomiting has slowed. I also noticed wheezing sounds now as I breathe and a bit of a headache.

Brief Answer:
Side effects of Ambien,if the symptoms continue you should see a doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to side effect of Ambien.

This is a sedative hypnotic medication usually used to treat insomnia problems.

Some of the common side effects of this medication are nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache etc.

The side effects usually go away on its own in a few days.

Meanwhile, you can take Reglan 10 mg to treat nausea and vomiting.

If the side effects continue you should consult your doctor about about an alternative medication.

If you can help me with more details about your diagnosis, I can suggest an alternative medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further
