I Have A Rash Or Sore On The Foreskin Of

Question: I have a rash or sore on the foreskin of my penis that I have had for several months. It is about 1/2 inch long and about 1/16th inch wide and appears as a line of welts or bumps. I've seen a urologist who said it was not herpes and I've been on femcyclovir for cold sores for about 3 weeks and that hasn't helped. Dr. said to change the soap I was using and put on Neosporin which I've tried for about a month. That hasn't helped either.

I tried some prednisone cream that I had for a recent hand rash which seems to make it a little better but it comes back as soon as I start using it and it burns when I put it on. Not suse I should even be using it there!

I have gone through your query and here is my advice. If possible, kindly upload image.

As per your history, sore since several months should be evaluated to rule out any sexually transmitted infection.

Please let me know do you have penile discharge, itching, fever, swelling, pain while urination?

To confirm diagnosis I would suggest you to do sore culture sensitivity, blood investigation including complete hemogram, RPR and urine examination after detailed medical examination and physician's opinion.

Till then in case of pain take tablet Tylenol. Apply ointment containing hydrocortisone and lidocaine. Maintain proper hygiene. Avoid harsh cosmetic products.
