I Have A Swelling On My Scrotum I Don't Know
Question: I have a swelling on my scrotum I don't know the cause of. It's right next to the upper part of my right thigh (where they touch). I suspect this may be due to sweating after shaving. There is discomfort but only really painful of I squeeze it. When I do squeeze, some fluid similar to pus emerges. Can I leave the swelling to heal on its own?
Brief Answer:
Possible epididimitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
This is possible epididimitis and if there is fluid secretion I suggest to see urologist since it may need antibiotic therapy. If there is no secretion then it may be treated with ibuprofen and rest. If there is increasing pain and swelling, you should see ER since it may indicate torsion. Wish you good health. Regards

Thank you Dr. Rommstein for your answer. I believe I was mistaken earlier however. The swelling is actually not on my scrotum exactly, but on the base of my pelvis just above the scrotum, right where it would touch the inner part of my right thigh. It's not close to the testicles so I doubt it's epididimitis. There is no secretion unless I press against it myself, otherwise the fluid remains contained.
I would visit a doctor but I would prefer to keep that as a last resort due to the pandemic (unfortunately people don't practice social distancing well in my area). Thank you very much for your consultation, and I wish you good health as well.

Follow-up answer
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome back.
Then this is more likely to be an abscess, seroma, or fistula. In this case, it may heal spontaneously or have intermitent symptoms in the future. Then just watch for those symptoms that I have mentioned and if worsens, see a doctor since a minor procedure like incision and drainage may be required.
You can apply mild steroid ointment or garamicin cream. Cold compresses o hidrocoloid dressing may help as well.
