I Have A Swollen Lump At The Base Of My Right Jaw Below My Cheek . Could This Go Away On Its Own? Should I See An ENT Or Different Type Of Specialist?

Question: I have a swollen lump at the base of my right jaw below my cheek. It is a little painful to the touch and varies in size throughout the day. I do have a cracked tooth near to where the pain in my cheek is, (cracked filling about 2 years ago) however I have no pain on the tooth or gums and no sign of any sores, etc. inside of my mouth. Could this go away on its own? Should I see an ENT or different type of specialist? Thanks for your time!
Brief Answer:
Most likely swollen salivary glands.
Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
I have read the details and in my opinion this is due a cyst in salivary gland located below the tongue. It normally increases in size during eating and then reduces gradually. Sometimes the neck is blocked by a small stone or there is excessive secretion , causing the saliva to accumulate and cause the variable swelling.
You should consult a general surgeon or fascio - maxillary surgeon for further details and treatment.
Thanks
