
I Have A Swollen Vein On The Underside Of My

Question: I have a swollen vein on the underside of my wrist. I had quite a bit of physical therapy on that wrist for tendonitis, which helped, but left me with what looks like a swollen vein in the wrist. I get shooting pains in it occasionally. Could it have been exacerbated by the physical therapy? It does not look like a gangelone cyst.

Hello,
I have studied you case. I think it is most probably tenosynovitis . Physio is usually helpful, but do not do massage. Also you can used ice or hot fomentation. Volitran gel can also be applied. If possible please send me image of wrist.

Will the wrist problem I described go away on its own with time? I'm getting shooting pains in it? Thank you

Most of the times this pain improve with time. Rarely if this stays beyond 4 weeks then you can use cortisone shot for pain relief.
