I Have A Tiny Faint Purple Bruise Underneath My Left

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Nov 2018
Question: I have a tiny faint purple bruise underneath my left breast. Also it feels like my left breast is growing and not my right. Also just got off the depo shot a couple weeks ago too.
It won’t allow me to upload a photo. But a couple years ago I had a juvenile fibroadenoma in my right breast but it was removed. I don’t feel any lumps in my left breast, it just feels tender and growing and I get pains in it some times.

Brief Answer:
It seems like an abscess

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

I have reviewed your query and images and here is my advice.

This seems to be an abscess. From your description of redness and pain, it seems to be benign.

This usually resolves with antibiotics and aspiration with needle or maybe surgery. An ultrasound and biopsy may be needed to confirm the diagnosis.

You can follow-up with a surgeon about its further management.

Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
