Question: I have a yellowish film on my pants off and on. I am taking a medicine antibiotic for urine infection but still have a problem with this from time to time. Very irritating and seems like I need to wear a very small pad. What is causing this to be so thick? I have had this before. Thank you. Dr. Higgins (Nancy)

Thanks for query .

Based on the facts that you have posted yellowish film that you have noticed on inner wares is mostly due to antibiotic (You have not mentioned name ) and nothing to be worried about
..
But at the same time it suggests that UTI is not controlled with the antibiotic that you are taking .

Get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like
Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water to keep urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
