Question: I have anal cancer stage 3 in one lymph node. . I will need radiation. Is VMAT better than IMRT for this?

VMAT is a form of IMRT only, using a different delivery system. So we can't say that VMAT is better than IMRT.

However, compared to more conventional IMRT, VMAT has few advantages, like shorter treatment delivery time. But efficacy and side effects are more or less same.

So you can choose either.
