Detailed Answer:
Hello my dear patient and thank you for choosing "Ask a Doctor" service on this forum for your query
Have gone through your details,
Firstly I would like to tell you that above 45 years of age only 10 to 12% of patients with FOBT test positive have colon cancer.
You are just 32.
Secondly severe bleeding is associated with colon cancer.
This may result in gross anemia as a result of massive blood loss in few weeks.
Thirdly apart from blood in stool there are many other symptoms which are present in patients with colon cancer.
It's not likely but almost sure shot that your case has nothing to do with colon cancer(As per presentation history and symptoms).
Yes very likely the source of bleed is some where else. It may be a hemorrhoid or fissure or any inflammation along intestine...Apart from cancer there are tens of causes of blood in stools.
Therefore tests like endoscopy and colonoscopy are there.
While endoscopy examines the upper part of gut for any ulcers tears etc ;Colonoscopy scrutinizes the lower gut for any pathology like benign polyp inflammatory bowel disease any mucosal tear fissures or hemorrhoid.
One thing I can assure you from my experience sir it's not colon cancer.
Hope this clears your query,
Feel free to follow up it would be a pleasure to reply.
Regards!
