I Have Been Diagnosed As ASST . Autologus Serum Skin
Question: I have been diagnosed as ASST . Autologus serum skin test as positive. Should I undergo AST therapy. How safe it is? How successful it is?. Should I go for it?. Any other alternatives available? Have been suffering from Urticaria last 2 months.
Brief Answer:
It is worth to try it.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think you can try AST therapy.
It doesn't have any side effects and it is worth trying it. The other therapies you can use have more side effects then it. Other therapies may include antihistamines, corticosteroids or biological drugs such oxalizumab which may have nose side effects then AST.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks Doctor. What if I leave without taking treatment. Can it cure on its own or the auto immune urticaria would keep progressing?. Will it make condition worse or immune will correct itself?.
Brief Answer:
It may have flare ups.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
If you let it without treatment it doesn't mean that it will get cured by itself or get worse. It may have flare ups from time to time. The immune system can't cure it itself but you can have treatment if you have a relapse. You can take antihistamines or corticosteroids to manage the flare ups.
If you have them rarely occuring you just continue having antihistamines and corticosteroids no need for other treatment. Most of the people will stop having flare ups within a year. Sometimes it may last for five years.
