I Have Been Diagnosed With Hernia , It Resulted From
The doctors suggest surgery.
The problem is after the surgery if my continous coughing is still there it could risk in moving my organs again and will risk complications.
What should I do?
I’m 55 year old male.

So better to find out cause of your coughing before surgery and start its treatment.
So get done chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.
PFT is needed to rule out bronchitis.
Lung infection and bronchitis, both can cause chronic cough.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and antibiotics based on the reports.
