Question: I have been diagnosed with inflammation and several autoimmune diseases in the past two months. This took three years of constant strokes and min-strokes at eight different hospitals to diagnose. Please look at the file "Current Diagnoses and Confirming Tests". I would like to know what relationship all these conditions have to each other, and if there can be determined a root cause of it all.

Brief Answer:
You are having MCTD.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
I have gone through the attachments you have provided.
These are suggestive of MCTD (Mixed connective tissue diseases).
When 2 or more CTD s are present in one patient where we can not classify single CTD, it is classified as MCTD.
Connective tissue diseases (CTD s) are basically autoimmune diseases where body produce antibodies against own antigens.
So immunosuppression is the only treatment option.
So better to start cytoxin as suggested by rheumatologist.
Thromboembolism, stroke, interstitial lung disease etc are common complications of CTD s.
These all are aggravated by diabetes and hypertension.
So it is not 100% possible to establish root cause of all these.
But stroke and ILD are definite complications of MCTD and they can worsen by Diabetes and hypertension for sure.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
