Brief Answer:
Artophic vaginitis or local irritation is possible, further advices below

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome at "Ask a Doctor" service,

Clear vaginal discharge after menopause can be related to vaginal irritation that results from lack of estrogen. This is called atrophic vaginitis. Normally low estrogen (female hormone) causes the vagina to be dry and cause related discomfort especially with intercourse. Sometimes local irritation (vaginitis) and even infection may happen in women with low estrogen increasing the secretions.

Other causes are related to some habits like douching, using soaps or feminine hygiene products locally there, or even laundry chemicals or wearing non cotton undeware might cause local irritation and secretions.

Both of these are generally considered as diagnosis after a careful vaginal examination so it is advisable for you to see your doctor but meanwhile I would recommend you to:
- avoid douching (washing the inside of your vagina with water)
-avoid perfumes, cleaning solutions, soaps, shampoo or any other chemicals in the genital area, even cleaners
- just rinse your genital area with water
- avoid long baths with scented products
- use cotton not so tight underwater

You may try some local use of vaginal lubricants to help keep the vagina wet and not allow irritation. Sometimes local estrogen is needed as well. If no improvement your doctor might need to prescribe local antibiotics (clindamycine) or oral estrogens, depending on the findings in examination.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
