I Have Been Experiencing Pain In My Lung Area, Esp

Question: I have been experiencing pain in my lung area, esp on the right side. I also am having trouble breathing and am winded easily. I am also experiencing bad pain in my back. It is like really sharp pain and with this I am also having chest discomfort. It has been going on for awhile now but I have not seen a doctor since I am terrified of hospitals. But in the last two or three weeks it has gotten worse and now I have a really bad cough with phlegm and I am all stopped up. I have also experienced a lot of itching. One good thing is that I have a normal temperature. Do you have any idea as to what I might be suffering from?

I also have been burning up quite a bit but have no temperature.

By your history and description possibility of either lung pathology like pleural effusion or bronchitis and heart diseases are more likely.

So better to consult a doctor and get done the following:

1. Clinical examination of the respiratory system, chest X-ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to rule out lung diseases.

2. Blood pressure monitoring, ECG, 2D Echocardiography and stress test to rule out heart diseases.
