I Have Been Getting Neck Headaches Recently And A Super Sensitive Scalp
Question: Greetings I have been getting neck headaches recently and a super sensitive scalp. Like I can push on part of the scalp had been real sensitive. I believe I have shingles too below my left breast. Can shingles cause headaches? In the past I have got shingles on my forehead as I have a history of herpes zoster. This just appeared out of no where on my chest.

Neuralgic pain can have this sort of a burning feeling and ill defined increased sensitivity in the involved area. I suggest you to take an analgesic like paracetamol for symptomatic relief. You can take it 3-4 times depending on the need. If the neuralgia persists it would be better to take pregabalin along with amytriptyline for a few weeks. As far as the current shingles episode is concerned i would suggest you to take an oral antiviral like valacyclovir or acyclovir for a week. It is a prescription drug.

I have Lyrica. Can I take that in the place of pregabalin? I do have amitryptaline so I can take that. I have to take it before bed because I took it one day when I woke up and I slept for hours during the day. I couldn’t stay awake
