Question: I have been having blood sugar problems. For about a year I have been diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia. It has been under control. However, things have changed over the past few weeks. In general, my waking blood sugar has been around 135ish, in the middle of the day it will drop to 45ish, in the evenings it will be around 108ish. Every day I am so fatigued. Today was the worst - my waking blood sugar was 137. 30 mins after breakfast it was 89. 30 mins after that it was 120. The who!e morning after eating I felt terrible. My whole body was shaking, felt like I was going to vomit, bad headache, dizzy and extremely sleepy. As the day went on, I felt better, but the smallest amount of food gives me nausea, a headache and makes me dizzy. Any idea as to what could be happening?

Brief Answer:
Rule out any pancreatic pathology.......

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

As per your history, you are already diagnosed with reactive hypoglycemia for which you may require further evaluation to rule out any possibilities for underlying condition.

Please let me know:
Are you diabetic/non diabetic or taking any other medications?
Is there any history for previous surgery?

For further assessment, I would suggest you to consult with endocrinologist for detailed clinical examination.

He may advice/procure computed tomography abdomen, fasting insulin, amylase/lipase level and blood sugar levels as per evaluation to rule out any pancreatic pathology.

Till then do regular blood sugar monitoring. Take balanced diet. Watch for hypoglycemia symptoms rapid heart beats, shakiness, sweating.....

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
