I Have Been In This Situation Now Since December 24.

All of a sudden the room around me started spinning every which way and I got nauseous and could not even hold water down. My legs were very jiggly I felt like a magnet was holding me to the couch at times. When I could get up ,even with my husband‘s help it was very difficult for me to walk at all certainly very wobbly and unbalanced. I went to the ER December 25. They did an MRI and bloodwork.
They said everything showed up OK and no reason to keep me there To go home and rest. Which I did for several days but although the balance was a little better and the dizziness less , not good still.
December 30 I saw my primary physician he suggested I do epily Exercises for crystallization in ears
This did not seem to help me feel better actually after I did it I felt worse. They weren’t sure which side it was on. I don’t know if there’s anyway to tell except by just looking at me I don’t know. Yesterday I went to an ENT and he had me do a hearing test and will be giving me a balance test .
They said my hearing it was OK and did another test that I think was called ECH where they put things in my ear hooked up to a machine said looked okay
. Did not get balance test yet
They gave me pack of 6 days 4 mg methyl prednisone .
After I took the first six I felt really strange dizzy in a the different way. That was last night.
Today I woke up also off-balance took one pill this morning with breakfast took another with lunch. The directions say to take one with dinner and two before bedtime. Still feel very unstable and just weird
. I am now wondering could be an eye issue. I am still off-balance told not to drive which I am sure I should not. But this is been going on for 2 weeks
Please guide me thank you
I am also under an enormous amount of stress
VNG Balance tests
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. From your history and symptoms, it appears that you have developed a condition known as BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo).
2. VNG (VideoNystagmoGraphy) and balance testing should be done.
3. You can use a smartphone to record eye movements using the front camera. The videos can be made in the lying down and sitting up position. These eye movements will be suppressed by vertigo medication...These videos can be shared here if you do not have immediate access to a Balance testing lab.
4 Epley's maneuver or the newer Semont plus maneuver may be performed under VNG control. This will help detect the side of the problem. Audiometry should also be done.
I hope that I have answered your query.
If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards
