I Have Been On Zoloft For 37 Days. First 7

Question: I have been on zoloft for 37 days. First 7 days 50 MG, next 25 days 100 MG, last 5 days 150 Mg. I am experiencing a very medicated feeling. I saw a neurologist yesterday and she advised its not neurologucal, its the meds and depression/anxiety. I was on zoloft for 6 years and never had these issues. I feel like my head is a balloon at times during the day. I dont feel like i am going to pass out, more of just a floating head feeling. I have had this feeling for 3 weeks but has gotten worse tne past couple of days. I also traveled to XXXXXXX yesterday from louisiana where the altitude is higher. What is going on?

Pease provide more details.
Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for using ask a doctor service
I can understand your concern.
Did you get your blood pressure checked?
This could be hypotension which is resulting in feeling as if head is a balloon. This might be due to increasing the dose of Zoloft. Though Zoloft results in increase in blood pressure but this could also result in postural hypotension. This should go by own in few day when you will get adjusted to the increased dose.
Other possible reason is anxiety itself. Anxiety might present with similar symptom. You can take SOS basis Clonazepam to prevent this.
What kind of other symptoms you are experiencing?
Thanks.
Please provide details in follow up.

I generally dont have high blood pressure but have had some high spikes with this anxiety/depression bout. The neurologist i saw tueaday wasnt concerned about BP. I have always had tingling in extremeties at time of stress. I have no other physical symptoms

Really a medicated feeling
Brief Answer:
This could be due to anxiety.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again
If the blood pressure remains in normal limits then most likely cause of the symptoms you have is anxiety only. Zoloft helps to correct anxiety but for anxiety exacerbations drugs like Clonazepam or Propranolol will be needed.
You can take Propranolol or Clonazepam on SOS basis and this will improve. You can discuss about these drugs with your doctor.
Thanks.
This should help you.

Also i drink everyday, not heavily. Any interaction issues!

Just checked my BP , 153 over 89.
Brief Answer:
You can take Xanax on sos basis
Detailed Answer:
Hello again
BP is high but is not alarming.
Avoid alcohol when you take Xanax. This could cause serious sedation.
Avoid Ambien for now. Xanax will control anxiety. Ambien has not much roles in anxiety. The drug is a good hypnotic drug.
Thanks
