I Have Been Taking Layolis Fe ( Norethindrone And Ethyinol
Question: I have been taking Layolis Fe (norethindrone and ethyinol estradiol .8/25 mcg for about a year now. While I use to get light bleeding before, now that I’m taking the pill consistently, I never get any bleeding on my off days. It’s been about five months without an actual period. I’ve taken a million pregnancy tests and they’re all negative. I’m unsure if this is normal or if I should be worried about something more serious. I had a cyst rupture about two years ago but an ultrasound was performed and I haven’t had one since. Is my BC doing it’s job or should I be checked over for something more serious like PCOS?
Brief Answer:
This is not normal and you should be checked.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
You should get your period after taking the 24th day pill. Then continue the other 4pills of iron and the proceeding day continue the other package.
If you don't get your period for such long (5 months) it is something to be concerned about.
You should visit your gynaecologist for further examinations such ultrasound and hormone levels.
You should be checked.
Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
