Question: I have been trying to conceive so the doctor sent me for an ultrasound scan. I don't understand it is this scan okay and can I conceive?  I have always had regular periods 27 to 31 days but the last 3 months I have had spotting as well as period so it's unlikely I have ovulated. The cyst that the scan has shown will it resolve and could this of been the cause of spotting? Can I conceive naturally? Cancer worries me as ovarian and womb cancer run in the family I hope there is no suggestion of this. Please help asap as I am full of anxiety. does the scan show if I ovulate? I am currently on day 17 of cycle and have very light bleeding again. I am worried sick my fertility specialist says all hormone blood tests are ok. I don't have a copy. why am I light bleeding again? please help asap I am worried sick

Brief Answer:
No signs of ovulation

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Greetings
I can understand your situation. The present scan report doesn't show signs of ovulation.
The cyst seen is not a follicular ,meaning ovulating cyst.
No other developing follicles are seen or not mentioned in the report.
Your spotting could be because you are not ovulating properly.
HOPE your BMI is within normal limits.
Also you need to provide more details about other hormonal and medical conditions.
usually the cyst should disappear within 2 to 3 months .Need to repeat scan after 3 months.
Feel free to ask your doubt with more details

I have been pregnant in the past but it ended in miscarriage I am worried about cancer cervical or any gynaecology cancer. Can this be a blip and should things go back to normal. I have never had a problem before up until 3 months ago. I have been stressed and am suffering anxiety can this be the cause

Does this mean I will never ovulate again? I am worrying about everything. All my fertility specialist said yesterday was there was nothing concerning and hormone blood tests are normal. If they are normal why am I bleeding again

The bleeding today cycle day 17 seems to be a period so hopefully my system is sorting itself out and I will be back on track. Can things just rectify themselves. FSH estrodol LH and AMH are all good I don't know the figures. This is all I know and the ultrasound scan. Cervical cancer worries me but I had a smear 2 years ago which was fine and I have no bleeding after sex or pain etc. I have mild pain now which is why I think it is a period as it is a bit heavier now

Brief Answer:
Unlikely to have normal hormones in this cycle

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

If the smear was normal you need not worry about cancer.

I don't think the periods can come so early though.
I'd suggest you consult your infertility specialist now, so that s/he can follow it up with follicular study and can confirm ovulation.
If it's not happening s/he can add medicines to induce the same.

Regards
