I need to know more details about your symptoms so that I am better able to help you. Kindly let me know if you have fever, sputum or any other symptoms.

Mostly this is viral only and it can take a few days to recover completely.
I will suggest that you get a sputum culture and sensitivity done to see if there are any bacteria. This will help us decide which antibiotic to take (keeping in view history of diabetes).

Hi again

This is pointing more towards allergy or just a post-viral cough. A post viral cough heals by itself. Allergies or runny nose are treated with Cetrizine.

Still if there is sputum then its culture can be done. Sometimes bacteria can also present without fever.
