Brief Answer:
could be vit D deficiency
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Gopal Goel , Orthopedic Surgeon.
You have stated that you have mid back pain for last 3-4 months. You have not furnished any other details.
Mid back pain generally mechanical in nature , either due to poor posture or poor spine alignment.
I would suggest X Ray Dorso- lumbar spine AP/Lat views ,CBC with ESR , S Vit D3, Se Calcium levels.
In the meantime start any pain killer and start spinal extension exercises ( to be taught by a physiotherapist).
Do let me know of the test results so that I can be more useful.
Thanks for the question. Hope that your query has been answered.
Kindly follow up with the reports .
Thanks.

Hi Doc,
Thank you for your detailed reply.
1)you have stated that you have mid back pain for last 3-4 months
-> pain is between shoulder and mid back i.e below the shoulders. There is no pain in shoulder and lower back. This is a continuous pain that disturb me but it is not severe pain.
2) I can see you have mentioned , it can be because of Vit D deficiency. Should I start taking Vitamin D supplements?
3)Mid back pain generally mechanical in nature , either due to poor posture or poor spine alignment.
-> In past , I never had pain in back. My sitting time is around 12 hours.
4) the meantime start any pain killer and start spinal extension exercises ( to be taught by a physiotherapist).
-> I already took 4 session from physiotherapist but no benefits at all. He did cupping and one more therapy.
5) My Physiotherapist told me, it can be because of uric acid. is that correct?
6) Please suggest any office Chair that I can buy to correct my posture.
Thank you for your detailed reply.

Hi, Dr Gopal Goel Again
I have seen your queries. I will try to answer one by one :
1. This pain between shoulder blades is generally called Fibro-fasciitis.
2. Start taking vit D3 , Pain killers and Muscle relaxants , along with hot fomentation and local analgesic gel.
3. yes , your pain is fibro-fasciitis, not exactly pain in middle of spine.
4.physiotherapy - like IFT may help.
5. Uric Acid increase causing this pain is an old concept. If you have any focal point , then local injection of steroid can help.
6. Any chair with straight back will be good .
I hope to have answered all your questions. Please feel free to ask any other question.
