I Have Developed A Hard Breathing, My Feet Over The Past 2-4 Days Have Been Swollen BP Is Normal What Are These Symptoms?

I was on aderal but my Dr took me off cold turkey 2 weeks ago because I went in for a office visit and my BP was 179/75 3 weeks before there she took me off of Vicodin 1 1/2 pill a night can’t sleep body gets real sore. Was in a accident 3-4 yrs go and have had a lot of stress past 3 yrs
I’ve always had borderline hypertension and I take Alodapine .5 mil and losartant in am
I’m wondering since my current dr just terminated me as a patient for questioning the discontinuation of aderal because I test my BP daily and no effect.
Oh I also have been spitting up white mucus for 4-5 months and she never addressed the issue. I’m so run down and the breathing issue is concerning me. Should I go back to the er with my symptoms
Needs echo and pulmonary function test
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Yes, it's better to visit er especially if you are having excessive difficulty in breathing at rest or on sleeping.
Firstly, possibilities in you are heart failure, COPD. Also, the swelling may occur due to heart failure, but amlodipine is a very common cause of swelling and you should get it changed to other antihypertensive like either increasing losartan dose or additing thiazide.
The mucus production can be explained by COPD, and also it can cause shortness of breath and swelling.
So you ll need echo to asses heart function and pulmonary function test, chest X ray for lung function.
You ll need diuretics or inhalers for current symptoms, so you may discuss regarding the same with local doctor.
Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.
Thanks.

Okay, still should get pulmonary function test
Detailed Answer:
Okay..so if your heart is okay, then we should consider you for pulmonary function test. As normal chest X ray will rule out structural causes, but COPD and other airway disease can be diagnosed on pulmonary function test. Also, chronic mucus production goes in favor of lung disease only. So there is a possibility of COPD or allergic airway disease, which can explain both of your symptoms. So likely you ll be benefited from inhalers.
Another cause should be ruled out is low hemoglobin, so get it tested if not done recently.
And swelling is likely due to amlodipine only especially if it is bilateral, so should get changed. You should also get Vit D levels done as its deficiency is common and lead to generalized body symptoms.
Thanks.
