I Have Enclosed The X-ray You Can Look At The Space To See If It Looks Alright To Begin With The Implant

Question: I asked you a question a week ago and the question closed before I could get the X-rays to you.. I was the one with resorption on my back three teeth.. one has been replaced with an implant .. one I will get an implant and the other tooth was removed .. the very back molar but I elected to not replace it.. the spot that is still irritating is next to the implant .. I am scheduled to get an implant in a month but it is still sensitive on the gum line.. like I told you when they pulled it .. the tooth came out with only one root the the roots had been resorbed.. I am surprised that they never discovered this until now! I have enclosed the X-ray so you can look at the space to see if it looks alright to begin with the implant.. also just checking to see if the implant already placed looks alright thanks so much. !!!!

Brief Answer:
There is still root stump remaining

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,
It looks like there is still root stump in the last molar which has not been resorbed and you might be having discomfort due to the same. However everything looks fine in the implant region. You have to maintain good oral hygiene and use floss or interdental brush to clean proximal region. It would be better if you can consult oral surgeon for exam and second opinion as i can only diagnose on the basis of history and xray.

Wishing you good health

Kind Regards

Brief Answer:
We can’t see graft on xray

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

It doesn’t look like graft but it would be better if you could see a specialist and he might do 3 d scan along with clinical examination.

Thanks

Can this area get infected if the root is left inside the gum

Answered by Dr. Neha Sumra (9 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Sometimes it can get infected

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for your email.
If its a small piece it can resorb or pop out on its own but if its a big root and gives any pain or discomfort then you need to get it removed as it can lead to further complications.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
You need to get CBCT- 3 dimensional scan

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for your mail.

There are couple of things that need to be assessed for implants. We would need 3 d CBCT scan to assess and study models to check space. The dentist who would be doing implant who be able to guide the best.

Thanks
