I Have Got Some Fungal Infection In The Nails.
Question: I have got some fungal infection in the Nails.
Brief Answer:
Start with oral anti fungal medicines
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and would recommend you to take oral antifungals for fungal nail infection.
I would recommend you to take capsule itraconazole 200 mg ( cap onitraz forte or cap sporonox) twice daily for 1 week in 1 month.
This cycle has to be repeated for 4-5 months.
This will help in clearing the infection.
Oral antifungals are prescription drugs and should be taken under the supervision of the doctor.

is there any ointment that I can apply and get rid off
Brief Answer:
Amorolfine nail lacquer can be tried
Detailed Answer:
It has been seen that topical antifungals are not effective in treating fungal nail infection.
Still you can give it a try.
You can apply amorolfine nail lacquer ( loceryl nail lacquer) once a week on the affected nails for 16 -18 weeks.
