Question: I have had TURBT for bladder cancer on 07/13/18. I have been taking Flomax since 08/18/18. I still have problems with frequent and urgent urination. My doctor suggested that I stop taking Flomax and do Kegel exercises. Do you agree with this approach?

Brief Answer:
Yes, if prostate size is normal

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

If the bladder neck caliber and the prostate are normal in size then the Flomax may not be of much help.

Only for first few months after a transurethral surgery the flomax is considered beneficial.

In case of normal prostate size and bladder injuries or tumors sparing the neck, Kegels are best way to control the urge, incontinence or evacuation.

Hope, I answered your query.

Please do ask if any doubts.

Regards,
