I Have Had A Backache For A Couple Of Days

Question: I have had a backache for a couple of days but I had thought it related to my trochanteric bursitis. Yesterday I did not feel well and went to bed early without eating. Tonight I have gas and diarea and uncomfortable urination. The pain is mostly on my left side beside the hip bone. I did the old fashioned thing and drank a glass of soda and water. This is after I had eaten some papaya pills which always clears up my gas pains from eating the wrong foods. Today I had English muffin, steak, yellow rice, broccoli and a piece of chocolate cake. I drank a glass of diet pepsi, a couple glasses of propel and water with lemon. I had several very small bowel movements. I do not believe that I was constipated as I have no gallbladder and tend to have a bm at least after every meal. Do you have an idea what is wrong with me.

I have read your query and here is my advise.

* As per my surgical experience, the current issue with intestine showing up several
small bowel movements indicate possible infection with bacteria or else.

My recommendations at present

- drink more liquids in sessions ( preferably boiled water, lemon juice, coconut water,
fresh butter milk )
- avoid aerated drinks till possible
- antacid as ranitidine or omeprazole with sips of water on empty stomach
- pro biotics as lacto bacillus 3 times a day
- avoid all spices, non veg, junk foods, dairy fat

* Observe the situation for next 24 hours
* Follow up after this period or early as per the need.
