Question: I have had a persistent, gagging cough for more than a week. At this point it is less coughing but a deep chest congestion.
I have continued to work full time, trying to rest and hydrate this weekend however congestion is not easing.
Advice? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Add Bromhexine and inhalers if breathlessness

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in HCM

I can understand your concern

Regarding your concern I advise you not to take a lot of liquids especially if you are hypertensive because the congestion gets worse and as a consequence the cough too.

You should also add a mucolitics such as Bromhexine orally twice for one week.If you feel breathlessness it would be better to use an inhaler for one month Albuterol two puffs immediately when you need it which means in periods of difficulty of breathing during the day.

Do not worry usually it might last for maximally one month and pases.

Hope to have been helpful
