Question: I have had about 6 msv of radiation exposure from medical imaging tests, is that enough of a dose to induce cancer?
Brief Answer:
Not likely to cause cancer
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
I understand your concerns. However, medical imaging is necessary when felt by the doctor. In that event, whatever small radiation dose is exposed, the benefits far outweigh the cancer risk. No study has so far shown increased risk of cancer with medical imaging. Thia dose of 6 msv is also likely not high enough to cause cancer.
Hope this helps.
